ARC screw rolling head

Consolidation of the rolling screw processing.

The screw rolling head typically involves three rolls and enters the material from the end face in the axial direction to roll the screw. Since it uses a step rolling method that rolls one thread at a time from the tip, it places less load on both the machine and the workpiece. Regardless of the rotation speed, it advances by the pitch per rotation. The rolls can advance in the axial direction regardless of their length, allowing for flexible setting of the screw length. There are F-type heads used for rotating workpieces (such as lathes) and G-type heads that can rotate the head (used for machining centers, etc.). ■ Features of the ARC screw rolling head - It can be mounted on a CNC lathe, allowing the cutting process and the rolling process to be consolidated into one CNC lathe. ■ Advantages of rolled screws 1. Improved screw strength Strength is enhanced due to work hardening from plastic deformation and densification of the structure. 2. Improved surface roughness The surface is varnished and has a glossy finish. 3. Reduced processing time With high peripheral speed and pitch feed, the processing time is relatively short for finishing. 4. Reduced setup time The lifespan of the rolls is generally longer compared to cutting tools, which reduces the frequency of tool changes. 5. Prevention of burrs, cracks, and rust The structure becomes stronger due to plastic deformation, significantly reducing the defect rate.

Screw Rolling Head (Manufactured by WAGNER)

Screw rolling head

With simple exchanges within the processing range of the thread rolling head, it is possible to quickly roll various types of screws. Both right-hand and left-hand screws can be produced. The thread rolling head comes in either stationary or rotating types, and the appropriate type is selected based on the machine being used. The stationary type is a unit that rolls threads against a rotating workpiece. The head opens due to the machine's feed stop or an internal stopper. The closing of the head is performed either manually with a handle or by using a closing cam with a closing roll. For example, it is used attached to the revolver part of an automatic lathe. The rotating type is a unit that rolls threads against a fixed workpiece. The opening of the RAR type head is achieved by moving the closing mechanism backward. The closing is done by moving the closing ring forward. The opening of the RR type head is done by moving the closing ring forward, while the closing is achieved by moving the closing mechanism backward. For example, it is used attached to the sleeve of a processing device or the spindle of a sliding carriage.

Screw rolling machine - automatic open rolling head

By simply attaching it to a conventional pipe machine, you can process "rolled threads" with similar operations.

Regarding rolled threads, it is described in Section 5 of the "Guidelines for Mechanical Equipment Construction Management (FY 2001 Edition)" under 2-5-2 Steel Pipe (b) Threaded Joints (1) Thread Processing. By simply attaching it to a conventional pipe machine, "rolled threads" can be processed with similar operations, significantly reducing work time. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Screw Rolling Head for NC Lathe

This is designed to enable the rolling processing of screws in water-soluble cutting oils by using grease for the lubrication of the screw rolling rolls and roll shafts.

[NTR 16-NC, 20-NC, 28-NC for NC Lathes] One piece in 2 seconds! We have mastered the speed technique of thread rolling. For thread rolling with a large pitch or when the material is high-tensile steel, we recommend using a higher grade of form for maximum dimensions. The shape and dimensions are the same as the standard NTR. [What is thread rolling?] It is a method of shaping threads by pressing a cylindrical tool (rolling roll) with the thread shape engraved on it against the base material, causing plastic deformation of the base material to form the threads. It is a type of forging process. In thread rolling, since the threads are formed through plastic deformation, the flow lines are not destroyed, and additionally, due to the hardening of the surface structure from the pressure during forming, stronger threads are produced. Standard Type Thread Rolling Head

It performs screw machining by attaching a screw rolling head to the cross slide of various lathes and single-purpose lathes and feeding it vertically against the axis of the material.

【Standard Type NTR 16, 20, 28, 36】 One piece in 2 seconds! This is a versatile type that has mastered the rapid technique of thread rolling and can accommodate various types of screws. For thread rolling of screws with a large pitch or when the material is high-tensile steel, we recommend using a higher grade model for maximum dimensions. 【What is thread rolling?】 It is a method of shaping screw threads by pressing a cylindrical tool (rolling die) with the thread shape engraved on it against the base material, causing plastic deformation of the base material to form the threads. It is a type of forging process. In thread rolling, since the threads are formed through plastic deformation, the flow lines are not destroyed, and additionally, the hardening of the surface structure due to the pressure applied during forming results in screws with higher strength. VABS screw rolling head

Large diameter screw rolling, dedicated machine rolling attachment

This is a brand suitable for screw machining larger than ARC size and for rolling heads mounted as dedicated machine attachments. ■ Features of VABS (Vabs) Screw Rolling Heads - Can be mounted on CNC lathes, allowing the integration of cutting and rolling processes into a single CNC lathe. - Has a wealth of experience in processing large screws ranging from a minimum of M2.6 to a maximum of M138. - Has a proven track record in the production of trapezoidal screws and screws with special shapes. - Can also provide closing devices. ■ Advantages of Rolled Screws 1. Improved screw strength Strength is enhanced due to work hardening from plastic deformation and densification of the structure. 2. Improved surface roughness The surface is varnished and has a glossy finish. 3. Reduced processing time High-speed pitch feeding allows for relatively short processing times for finishing in one go. 4. Reduced setup time The lifespan of rolls is generally longer compared to cutting, which reduces the frequency of tool changes. 5. Prevention of burrs, cracks, and rust The structure becomes stronger due to plastic deformation, significantly reducing the defect rate.

Screw Rolling Head Open Type OTR Series

Because the thread rolling rolls protrude from the end face of the main body, thread processing can be done up to the point where the material is chucked without bending, even for small-diameter threads.

One piece in 2 seconds! Master the fast technique of thread rolling, and furthermore, it is possible to process even irregularly shaped threaded parts without interfering with the rolling head body. We offer standard types (open type) OTR 20, 28 and NC lathe type (open type) OTR28-NC. 【What is thread rolling?】 It is a method of shaping the threads by pressing a cylindrical tool (rolling roll) with the shape of the thread profile against the base material, causing plastic deformation of the base material to form the threads. It is a type of forging process. In thread rolling, since the threads are formed through plastic deformation, the flow lines are not destroyed, and additionally, due to the hardening of the surface structure from the pressure applied during forming, stronger threads are produced.
